Ah Paris

What better time then now to go and visit Paris France. Ever since my mum and sister went in 2009, I have been earning to see the City of Love, passion, and great shopping! It was everything I had imagined, the greenery, the architecture, the people were all so enchanting. I can see how so many who go feel as if they have been transformed into another time. The Eiffel tower is a marvel in it's self, then there is the buildings of the kings (and I give no disrespect...however now after seeing Versailles I can understand why the french people revolted against their monarchy), the river Seine was one of my favorite parts of the trip, there is something about traveling on the water by boat to see the old wonders. I also loved that our boat we were on was a hop on hop off so we were able to not only see the marvels from the river, but also to go up and venture throughout to see for ourselves the architectural wonders. The French really know how to make art in their designs. Every where we were I saw beauty. Here are a couple pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

10 feet off of Beale..

Last week I had the great pleasure of going on my second ever business trip. My first was when I worked as a Librarian for the City and I was able to drive up with another co-worker (I was 20 at the time) to Salt Lake City to learn about how to create and maintain a website. I didn't feel qualified (but thankfully my boss saw so much more then I did in my potential!). Fast forward Eight years and now I am with a different company and I got to fly to Memphis Tennessee, to help another Co-worker with a project for a week. I felt a lot more confident in myself this time around, (even though I still had the case of butterflies) and let me tell you, we Worked hard and played just as hard. But it made the time go that much quicker, I was really surprised at how fast that week went. I am not sure I am that into living out of a hotel though, but it was a great experience to add to my already amazing growing experiences I am having at work...So back to Memphis and playing in Memphis, what a fun City! Walking on Beale street, Seeing Sun studio where Elvis became an icon, going to the Theatre to watch Memphis the Broadway, the famous Peabody hotel with the marching ducks, going to many delicious southern cooking restaurants, taking the trolley downtown, seeing the mighty Mississippi for the first time (No wonder why they call it mighty!) And just enjoying good company.

Seeing Tartan

A couple weeks ago, I was feeling landlocked, my gypsy soul was coming out, I needed an adventure! And what better place to find an adventure then getting on a plane and heading to Scotland! Oh it was so beautiful, Even during the winter time it is green. I took a fight from Atlanta to Manchester England, then a train from Manchester England up to Edinburgh Scotland. There are so many old buildings as we passed through each town I just wanted to stop and look at each of them, but my destination of Edinburgh was getting closer and I didn't want to prolong the anticipation I was feeling. When I arrived to hours later, I can only explain the feeling as an awe for those who have done something great. I stayed at the Caledonian Westoria hotel in the downtown area off of Princes Street. A beautiful Hotel with an exquisite view of the City and the famous Castle. I spent two wonderful days in that city, I felt like a part of something that was much older then me. I met some wonderful people while I was there, when traveling it is always amazing to me how friendly people really are. The stories they have to tell of places they have seen and people they have met. Scotland truly is a magical place, I am already planning my next trip back! Here are some pictures from the trip, Enjoy!

Losing a Friend

It is strange to see someone your own age pass away. This year I have now lost two people who I have known for over 12 years. Heather Hill passed away earlier this year and the circumstances are very unclear as to what happened. But I wanted to take a moment and honor her life. I have known Heather since I moved to Utah back in '94, we went through all the classes together till the end of high school,I saw her at my ten year class reunion however, I can't claim to have been a best friend, nor was I that close to her, but her and I had a few moments that changed my life for the better. I watched her stand up for those who weren't able to stand up for themselves. She always seemed to have a smile on her face, and a positive attitude. I remember going to girls camp with her and I remember her Testimony of God ringing true. I also remember how tough it seemed when she lost her father. I will always remember her as a woman who took courage and who was quick to smile and offer a hand to those who needed it most. Jeremy Sun also lost his life this year and I want to take a moment and honor his life. He and I met for the first time in a debate class in high school. And after that, he would be in my life till his slipped away. He and my best friend Crystal would date and eventually get married to which I was a bridesmaid. They soon moved to Dallas Texas had a son, NASA Jeremy and a daughter Kai Capri. I had the opportunity of visiting with them there right after I returned from my mission in San Antonio. They then moved back to Cedar City and Jeremy and I went to University and ended up graduating the same Year. In that time, Crystal and Jeremy knew they were one different paths and they separated ways, and Jeremy married again a year later to a woman named Rebecca. The thing I remember about Jeremy is that he loved his kids and he always made sure they were taken care of. I remember him as being a fun guy who was easy to laugh and liked to really listen to other people's stories. I also remember that he and I both have a passion for nice cars and on more than one occasion driving in them, that is where I grew to love BMW's, though the Hummer and the Mercedes come in close second. I thought I would have a chance to say my goodbyes before he left, but his time was just too quick. It really makes me want to never take for granted the time God has given me to be with those around me who I care for the most. May God be with both Heather and Jeremy. May you Rest in Peace.
